Everyone who knows me well... knows that I hate wearing jackets. I love winter... I love Christmas... I just hate that throwing on a jacket always ruins the overall effect of an outfit. I'm infamous for surviving all winter long with just a grandpa cashmere sweater or numerous furry vests and layers to avoid having to buy a puffer or peacoat.
But its just been freezing and for the last few weeks (and I can only wear Ugg boots and Flannel Shirts for so long without being totally frumpy) so I've been scouring the internet for the perfect black investment piece peacoat. The perfect peacoat should clean up my look and be easily thrown on with myoffice looks during the week and for play on the weekend!
And the winner is - the classic peacoat by Burberry! It's beautiful - made of cashmere and wool from Italy and has a subtle Burberry check print in the inside lining. And it costs a fraction of the price of the Fashion house's trench coats.
I picked mine up yesterday at Bloomingdales in the SF Shopping Centre. I normally would've walked to the actual Burberry boutique but ironically I WAS TOO COLD. I do have to say the sales people at Bloomingdales need to go to SALES TRAINING. And I can say that - because I am a sales person and they need to work on their manners. Just because I look 16 doesn't mean I don't have a credit card or cash to blow ..... AND it cost an extra $20 to get the sleeves hemmed. Barney's, Nordstrom, Neiman's all do complimentary alterations so that was annoying too. And just to be a bitch, let's just say Bloomingdales and Macys (same company) never offer the same customer service as other department stores so I am going on a boycott now.. if only it wasn't so COLD and I wasn't too damn lazy to walk outside.
It also comes in red....
