My Fashion Love Story: The Holiday Season

Okay it is the holiday season -  I am overcome with guilt by my frivolous spending habits.  I am supposed to experience the joy of giving this season right?  

Last night, I made a silent vow to myself that for the month of December I would stop shopping for myself (GASP!  Can I go a whole entire month without buying something? Of course there are certain items on my shopping list that get to be exceptions to the rule - bc otherwise, let's face it.  I would probably die. Panic Panic Panic.  Ok calm down, if I find my perfect pair of black leather booties or a black winter peacoat - its still FAIR GAME! I can DO THIS.) and concentrate on shopping for all my loved ones.  

So today is November 19th, which means I have 11 days to buy myself a ton of shit.  Just kidding.  Kinda.

OK I couldn't resist.  SHIT!  These are picks of a great dress that is made by GOLD HAWK (an LA designer) and was on GILT FUSE today.  It's listed for $135 and was originally $400.  SUCH A PERFECT Holiday dress. :)

Shop My Closet: Nanette Lepore

This morning I made the mistake of logging into Gilt Groupe and I made an impulse buy decision to pick up this Nanette Lepore dress (fingers crossed that it will fit me).  It's a great classic black dress with fringe detailing at the bottom for a little more kick! 

And thanks to Gilt Group - I am picking up this beautiful dress for $148.  The original list price on this item is $400!

Label Watch: Juicy Couture

I am not known to be the biggest fan of Juicy Couture.... I mean pink velour, little dogs, and rhinestones on my ass have never been a flattering look.

I walked past the store on Market Street the other day and totally fell in love with a bunch of dresses in the store window.  I ran inside, a little embarrassed by all the young girls in the store who were checking out the hideous velour track suits, and was a little stunned by the $250-$300 price point.  Clearly, they are marketing to an older crowd... and perhaps, my sister will buy me one for Christmas.  (Cam are you reading this? hahaaha)

Here's a great Lace Print Tank Dress by Juicy that could totally work for the office and take you to happy hour.  I would pair it with black opaque tights and a pair of cut out booties to add a little edge to the polish.

I also love this printed dress with the kid-like heart print.  I normally do not gravitate towards prints but think this style could be uber versatile for work and play.  At the Juicy boutique, they have it on display with an awesome faux fur jacket which is a look I never would've thought of for this dress!
